MADHAT Hijinx

Suckers - both of 'em. She absentmindedly touches the dog tags around her neck. Teresa hits the gate first, because Gary had to make a last minute engine adjustment. S1189675 - Teresa easily outruns some Southern Cartel people. The Stormer handles great! S1189676 - Teressa makes it to the area known as Acid Lands and there's some Ultraviolence ahead of her... And some behind. She slides off the edge and takes a hit to the front and something in the engine compartment goes 'clang.' Not a mechanic herself, the only thing she knows to do is floor it! She makes it away... Here's where it gets interesting... S1189677 - Teresa stops for a few hours to have a bite of rations and to let the engine cool. She's in the Broken Hill area and has just poured more fuel from the jerry can when she hears a rumble in the distance... She barely makes it onto the road when once again they are ahead and behind! She tries her best to dodge them and manages to avoid the bullets... But the hills break more than themselves, and the front armor takes one too many bumps and the radiator goes! Next hill catches the water pump! She can barely make it up to the road... Just a little farther! Nope! Can't make it... An enemy comes up and starts to better the driver's side door. Doesn't take much to break her resolve. Ultraviolence are excited to get the Stormer! One of them says they are going to put a "dixie horn" on it, but Teresa doesn't know what that means... She actually doesn't know much of anything! Something is definitely wrong! They take her prepare to send her to Firelight to fight in the Pits when she suddenly starts to scream! My name is Cynthia! These aren't my tags! Well, it turns out "Teresa" had swapped tags with her and drugged her after Gary went to work on the engine... Teresa decided she didn't want to make the run after all. Cold Feet - not a normal thing in the wastes... A quick run in with traders and the proper horn combination is given and they ignore each other. Next leg of the trip is not so easy though... Near Via Rupta, Ultraviolence shows up in force! Thankfully thy are all behind him and decides to punch the accelerator in this 'Vette and easily gets away from them. S1189679 - He gets close to Devil's Fingers and there's Ultraviolence again! What do they want with him? It's like they knew he was coming... Oh well, just a quick zig and zag and he's speeding away. Knowing they won't be ahead he relaxes the throttle... S1189680 - ...until he rounds the bend again! Now there's an ambush! They must have radioed ahead! He has a choice - take the finger path and go head on with two cars, or turn and face three behind him? He opts for what's behind door number three - to avoid the road and take a chance on the chassis... Whew - it was close, but he made it... Now why did Ultraviolence come after him?
