maxed out scouts it takes a little time but good scouts help

2 car scouts I am feeble minded and less cars make it easier

i normally go with a buzzer and a merc vets in the buzzer and my trainees in the merc I like to max their gunnery skill

if you don't have a buzzer 2 apaches/land runner can be used as well
a rocket launcher/heavy machine gun setup is great as you can train
gunnery and large guns on the same car

taking 2 phoenixes can be used to run from a bad fight

windy 2 with 2 gattling guns i have used with repeated success to train guys in gunnery skill

I am planning on setting up a squad with a bunch of mercs as i think it is good use of cr but it is only in my head not sure what 8 mercs would get on a good/bad pull also setting them up would less fun 5 be a better sweat spot? (if anyone has experience on that feedback would be appreciated)

anyways just some rambling my friend kind of quit playing due to getting "unfair" spawns and didn't seem keen on using phoes to run or going 50 miles out to scout too long of a wait time looking for input to try to get him to come back

hey was fun scoutin with u two.

I also work best with max 3 cars. two early on though. Kind of settled on a combo of a kickin Buzzr, with an apache with a GG/HGG combo or at least GG/HMG for the cross train, one or two reloads and 5 on board, with some newbies in for driving loot so i dont feel too bad losing them on a bad return. and they get driving or courage upskills

Lately Ive added a gg/flechette pho to try to increase loot. Have a couple squads set up so little need for changes and scout em one after another.

My humble two cents in respect to SS scouting survivability:

Buzzers are a lot of Combat Rating (CR) to manage, they should only be used with gangers that can keep the weapons in the fight with rapid reloading specs.

Apaches are a great line fighter to train gunnery skills in, they can comfortably handle an MMG/HMG combination to train gunnery(G)/large gunnery(LG) at the same time, or even an HMG/HMG if training just LG. They can also run MMG/MMG and not boast so much total CR that you will get overwhelmed. More CR = more enemies = less guns per target approaching you, can quickly become overwhelmed through not managing CR properly.

Another great line fighter option, as Barbat mentioned, is the Windsor II. I run mine with MG/MMG. They're nimble enough to traverse terrain, can take a bit of damage, and have relatively low CR meaning you could field two or three Windsor IIs and not have to worry about facing the Mongolian horde.

Getting in on group scouts with folks that have gunners that can carry any slack from lower skilled gunners is huge, and is by far (in my opinion) the best and safest way to train new gangers as well as staying involved socially with others. When this is not an option, I'd personally recommend running two or three Windsor IIs as I often have decent luck with them.

As far as loadout goes, I'd say the focus should be ammunition, I try to take two reloads per gun and one dedicated gunner per gun. My driver usually acts as my scout and field first aid, this way I have no need for a fourth ganger in the vehicle and if I can fit one they're just a loot car driver.
