'Queenie' Pearson supped her drink whilst she perused the figures, it looked good on paper, she stared out the window at the 2 gleaming fire trucks, looked even better in the flesh.

What about the other two trucks, she would have to gut them, you always made a mess when you take a truck down and only enough kit survived to equip 2 of them.

Repair the armour, add a rollcage, replace engine with new 8Ls, buyers could decide what they wanted to arm them with.

Queenie downed the rest of her drink, better go check the mechs are doing their jobs, want those trucks in the Gateway marketplace earning money asap.

Queenie had heard about the camps, you needed a lot of dosh to set one up or become a major partner in one, yeah these truck sales should provide the necessary capital.

Queenie stepped outside, God those trucks looked good up close.

Now what to do.

One firetruck sold, the other 4 kept to form the 11th Engine Company based at Gateway.

There was a palpable sense of menace in the air, camps had been created, lines drawn in the sand, alliances forged in blood.

Queenie did not enjoy thinking to hard but choices had to be made and probably made soon.

Still didn't have the quality of gang member to crew the 11th Coy but when she did - what then?

What kind of work to put them to?

Transport? Escort? Trade? Pirate Hunter?

A lot of thrash talk on the airwaves but also some common sense. Somerset Strangers and Lattes Raiders, now there's
some lads with their heads screwed on.

What kind of work to put the 11th Coy to when they are ready?

Transport? Escort? Trade? Pirate Hunter?

Maybe none of the above, maybe - defend the right to choose.

No profit in that career path, probably no thanks either, not sure how the gang would feel, they may be inclined to find a new gang leader but at the moment its my choice.

God I need a drink then back to making 11th Coy a reality and then.........?

"Well that was a bundle of laughs" 'Queenie' Pearson said for the hundredth time, Shepherd & Whittaker looked up from their less than comfortable positions in the back of van.

A van taking them back to Somerset, Pearson and Shepherd weren't to bad but Whittaker was banged up - hospital here we come.

'Queenie Pearson' couldn't believe it, gang leader of the Triple R had lost her 1st car. It was only a looted Desert Flame but Shepherd and Whittaker had lost the Apache.

That return encounter with the two Windsors hadn't gone well, the Apache and the Desert Flame were banged up - should of paid the toll.

Still didn't think straight when they offered to stop shooting so we could surrender.

Maybe that's the way we are - no surrender!

We still managed to put one Windsor on its roof and add proper air conditioning to the other one.

A yell from the front brought Queenie out of her reverie, Somerset hove into view.

Once Whittaker was patched we'll get back to Gateway and take a proper interest in those two Windsors.

If these boys & girls were going to be a permanent fixture around Gateway its the least the Triple R could do.

It took a while for word to get back to Gateway from Badlands

Queenie Pearson, Triple R's one and only gang leader - dead.

Dog Shepherd the only survivor from her Apache, an Apache
torned apart by a new pirate chassis - Black Stone.

Members of Black Rock don't know if to laugh or be sad upon such lost. Because it is original Black Rock design as well as Black Rock Landrunner.
Maybe we should become pirates they started thinking...

Shayla 'Doc' Martin streched and yawned.

One thing to be said for a Fire Truck, they are roomy.

Elmsfield hove into view, sitting in the lead Fire Truck Shayla reflected on the dream that had become a reality - the 11th Engine Company.

Pity 'Queenie' Pearson never lived to see her dream come true.

The word had just come in.......

Apparently the Head Scout (MG Thompson) for the 11th Engine Company had decided on a little scout in BL before the Company set out
to escort another trader convoy to GW.

Two are our best gunners and MG never returned.

THe 11th still went out to GW with a rookie scout, the Firelight
Manhunters......ambush......so many......so many rocket launchers....so many Black Rock/Stone.

Another ambush.

Running for the Gates of GW, heard the rookie scout Chris Lord stopped his buggy to draw fire.

Where did they lose the trader convoy - all those lost souls.

Roll call in GW, everyone in the 11th got throught except for the Fire Trucks. Only Defiant made it through for them, punching a hole through the 1st ambush and fighting for all it was worth all the way to GW.

Endeavour - utterly destroyed in the 1st ambush trying to hold back the initial assault.

Lion Heart - managed to break free from the 1st ambush thanks to Endeavour but disappeared in a massive ball of fire taking Doc Martin, Triple R's 2nd gang leader with it.

Almost 20% of the Triple R had gone, dead - one miracle, Chris Lord the rookie scout crawled into GW, more dead than alive but somehow he had survived the destruction of his buggy.

Red Russo was in charge now, an experienced scout would arrive from SS soon and take the tattered remains of the 11th back to SS.

Triple R would regroup in SS, rebuild and recruit.

And when we are ready we will go and look up the Firelight Manhunters and then there will be pain...so much pain...

Word had come through the 11th were almost home.

When they arrive they would find out that Red Russo newly
ordained leader of the Triple R had been lost with all her crew on a routine scout.

'Pyramid' Ramirez, the first male gang leader of the Triple R would be welcoming the 11th home.

"Say, Ramirez.  Message for you.  From some broad in Somerset."  The anonymous courier dropped it off and left without another word.

The note reads:
Quote:
To: 'Pyramid' Ramirez, RRR, c/o Mezcal's
From: Claudette Vick, Weasel Works, Somerset

Hear you guys have run into some problems.  Still have the equipment Doc Martin loaned us... lot of fun, but hoo boy, does it draw attention.  Which, at this stage of the game, is the last thing Weasel Works needs.  It'd probably just sit on the shelf for a while for us, and it could buy you a whole lot of rebuilding, so if you want it back, just drop me a line.  And look me up when you get to Somerset.

Claudette, huh?  Well, there's someone who could really use a nickname...

'Pyramid' Ramirez couldn't believe his ears........

"No longer gang leader........"

Not only dropped as gang leader but no longer
allowed to lead the 11th into battle.

He could stay with the 11th, according to Bell he
was a passable gunner but he couldn't even crew
one of the fire trucks.

Demoted to 2nd gunner on the 1st Escort Apache for the 11th.

'Bell' Alexander couldn't help feel sorry for Ramirez as
he vacated the gang leader quarters.

It wasn't Ramirez's fault, he was just a stop-gap until a real
leader made his presence felt. I mean seriously, Triple R leaders always came from the scouts not gunners.

And if Ramirez didn't buck his ideas up he would lose his
place in the 11th - a static posting in BL or GW or God forbid
SS beckoned.

Bell Alexander was dead.

Got clever playing with a Black Rock and Blitzer at
the same time, dual HMGs should have been enough
but not with noobs manning them.

Taking out noobs in the Gateway wilderness - idiot
was overconfident and showing off.

Not enough remained of all three of them to fill one coffin.

Not that his leadership would be missed, on his watch a 3rd
FT had been destroyed.

Pyramid had been passed over for a 2nd chance at command,
another gunner no less - Taylor Forth had shown great promise.

Only 1 FT left...

'Queenie' Pearson's dream was dead.

Routine convoy escort against 10 Boss gangers.

Should of been by the numbers.....

Last Fire Truck shot to pieces, Cbt Artic exploded
and one of the Escort Apaches torned apart.

Seven 11th Coy killed in total.

Convoy untouched, with the remants of 11th Coy
and some looted vehicles they made their way to Gateway.

Alas Groton Gladitors had one last surprise, only 6 of
them but more than enough to make the 11th Coy flee
and abandon the convoy.

But not before the 2nd Escort Apache was taken down killing 2 more 11th Coy.

Triple R's gang leader, Taylor Forth only made it home after his looted Sir Ricket was shot out from under him, he had to hitch a ride out on the last looted vehicle exiting the massacre.

The convoy? Out of 6 vehicles only 2 made it through, 6 personnel dead.

11th Engine Company is now disbanded.

Bad news I am afraid the last remaining ex 11th Coy Ft was lost only on Sunday to super accurate car rifle fire (they are the new rockets you know) despite the fact that the offending cehicles had had their weapons damaged - of course my lasers and car cannons stopped working pretty much after their first hit.......
Didn't matter anyway as my level 3 specialists had 'one of those days' - you know - when they can't hit a barn door at 50m but the enemy hit you at 90m plus every time.
So I'm afraid I have no Fire Trucks to lease/sell/give back!

Damn, sounds like the pirates that hit you had only just finished with me :(

Not in rush to get back into FTs, for a so-called "vet" I've suffered a run of colossal losses recently.

I love the game to bits but I'm going to wind down for a bit take a break and come back in 2009 fully refreshed and hopefully with a new idea to replace the 11th Coy B).
