I feel the same way, the gang members lost has been more painful than the Firetruck losses really, I'll be steering clear of Firetrucks for the forseeable too - like I have a choice ;)

OOC: [BTW I have added a 'rares spawn' report to my daily 'state of the nation' email that is sent to me automatically. So I'll be keeping a much better eye on what loot is actually appearing and at what frequency.]

Taylor Forth had just got the message, 42nd Ranger Company, the phoenix that had arisen from the ashes of the 11th Engine Company had arrived at Gateway.

How long had it been, nearly 2 years since he had been afflicted by 'wow'. Not much to show as gang leader since taking over when the last fire truck disappeared in a man-made inferno.

Had to give up the 2 camps, not doing anything useful with them whilst afflicted by 'wow' and from what I've heard they have gone to good homes.

Nice to get a welcome back from that 'Sam' character and what a surprise to come back to an even better and more fantastic Evan.

Anyway, enough trips down memory lane, need to get out on that scout, gang leader and yet only 1st gunner on an Apache stationed in Elm - well got to start somewhere.

Still got some of that 'wow' affliction but it's a new world, new towns to reach and explore, new friends and enemies to make out on the road.

Eddie Money, Leader of Longo's Merry Men gives Taylor a pat on the back as he exits the bar, enroute to the camp known as Longoville. "Welcome back friend."

Randy 'Old Goat' Mobley walks up and shakes Taylor's hand 'Good to see Triple R back on the road... as always if you are needing anything we can probably help', walking back to the large group of Dweller's gangers there he shakes his head 'Well, wonders never cease, next thing you know those two old codgers with corn pipes will be back on the porch in Somerset'

Stuart Gomez, reluctant leader of the Racingspiders, listened intently as stories of epic disaster that befell a legendary gang spread through the tavern and across the wires.

He raised his glass and, to no one in particular, spoke:
"For the fallen, and those that have returned. Welcome back Rangers."

He quickly downed his drink and continued listening as the stories rolled out between hushed conversations as well as one particularly loud bombastic individual who attempted to tell epic tales, but was too wasted to make much sense other than "an... that! <hic> is why dems called fahr trukks."
