Word is spreading amongst small traders operating around Gateway that a pair of sinister, unmarked Winsors have been spotted shadowing small convoys and patrols. Their motivations are unknown at this time, but the advice around Mezcal's seems to be to carry extra ammo.....

One of the gate guards comes in at change of shift, shaking his head. "You know those Windsors that have been lurking around - looks like they're confirmed as Pirates. Moved in on a small patrol belonging to that group who own all those fire-engines, broadcasting a demand for a "toll" and attacked when it was rejected. Saw the survivors come limping in - some of those guys looked in a pretty bad way."

The couple occupying the table in the corner looked a little odd - the leather flying jackets were a common enough sight, but the flying helmets with the goggles pushed high on the forehead were a little outre, even for the Wastes. The bloodstains and bandages wouldn't even raise an eyebrow in these parts.
"The boss really isn't going to be happy about this" said the heavily muscled woman with the combat shotgun slung over her shoulder. "Combat losses are one thing, but we got caught with our pants 'round our ankles on this one - in your case literally!"
The slightly built man sitting opposite her shrugged, then grabbed for his injured shoulder with a yelp. "Damned unsporting I call it - shooting a chap when he's answering a call of nature. Not even so much as a warning shot!"
"I told you not to have the Roadkill Stew last night" she said. "The chef in here isn't too picky about which species goes in the pot, nor how long it's been dead. And I don't think the boss is going to take that as an excuse for losing one of the new cars. I reckon we'd better get some payback on the books before we make a report, otherwise we'll be driving that damned tanker pickup for the foreseeable future....."
