It all begun in Badlands. Dale Davis as the representative of Black Rock there went to Gráinne Uaile looking for some guys with decent driving so they can move the new Landrunners he just ordered from Jet Black from very good prices. Edgar Thoma was very pleased with the price so instead of one Dale bought two.
Two nice black Landrunners with 3.2l installed and some armor, mostly in the rear and full of fuel, five tons each, waiting for their drivers.
Dale didn't want to know who he was hiring. It was suicidal mission. Go from Badlands all the way to Somerset for weapons to be mounted on the Landrunners. All the way without weapons.
As he announced he was looking for driver a guy got up from table and shouted at him that he can drive no problem, his name was Jeffry King. Dale hired him and shouted into the crowd that he needs one more. A woman got up slowly, like waiting for someone else to get that job. Her name was Emily Mize. Dale haven't given it much thought. He showed them the landrunners and just told them to get going to Gateway and then Somerset if they manage to survive and went back drinking and trying to forget he just send two fairly young people to their dead.
Jeffry and Emily were both 20 years old and as they were talking about their odds of getting to Somerset alive they found out that Jeffry know basics from First aid and that Emily can try scouting a bit.
Jeffry was not worried. He was always courageous so he thought that with full gas they will outrun everyone no problem. Emily was a little more worried but decided not to show it.
So they got into vehicles, wished each other best luck and get going from the Badlands. As soon as they left gates of Badlands they run into pirates. They were only three cars behind them so they managed to get away without scratch.
As the were running at full speed from Badlands leaving pirates far behind they felt like they might be lucky tonigh and survive this run to Gateway.

The road was running nicely behind their wheels and they felt it might be alright. Emily got too uncareful and they run into bad ambush. Just before a bridge in the middle of nowhere they saw two cars closing from behind. They tried to run across the bridge and Jeffry almost ended in a side of it. Emily got the lead just to see two cars closing from the other side of the bridge. It didnt look good. Luck just havent left them entirely and one of the pirates in front of them was in such rush that he felt down under the bridge and got bruised and was trapped down there. But still one remained and opened fire at Emily's car. She didn't panicked and kept accelerating and just before losing front armor past the pirate and was free to go away. Jeffry was just 30 meters behind but the pirate managed to get into head-on collision with him. JEffry got bruised and his car cought fire but he just put his feet on gas and started to running away. Emily was far front and eventhough she kept making mistakes while driving she was managing to get away. Jeffry got three cars on his tail now. And all of them kept firing. The engine was on fire and everything was covered in smoke. front armor almost destroyd and now left armor was getting wors, try to turn away... now right armor is going down so try to show them only the rear one which was best equiped for it. Engine badly hurt but still working he was able to get away just before any armor could be breached. They got away.
As they stopped after some time to look at their cars and how it all looked. Emily's car only lost most of the front armor and some damage to tyrs for reckless driving but otherwise in good shape. Jeffry's Landrunner was in much worse shape. Badly damaged engine and none of them able to repair it. Last two pieces of right armor and less than five points everywhere expect rear armor...
They were past the point of returning back and they just werent even able to face Dave and tell him they failed... So only going forward. No other way.

Finally, nobody has probably ever been so happy to see the ugly Gateway Truckstop. Just few hundred meters and we are safe Emily though... but shots hitting here car awakened her to reality. As she kept listening to the shots hitting her car she recognized Car rifle and Micromissiles. Some pirates are behind them and she haven't noticed them until now... not a good qualification for becoming scout but she was hired as driver and not scout so she slowed down a bit and tried to protect Jeffry's car with her own. Two quick hits by micromissiles and the explosion put down Jeffry's right armor... It became even more dangerous than before... There was nothing they could have done with it just keep going front for the gates... more micromissles but just occasionaly hitting back of Emily's car so no harm done. As they gone into the Gateway they felt great relief that they survived and even brought the cars with them almost undamaged. Now just to do the basic repairs and head for the Somerset to report to leader Edgar Thoma. Now they just went to meet with the Gateway crew of Black Rock which they are supposed to become part of as soon as they are done running with the Landrunners from one town to another.

They got their landrunners patched up and went on road again. Moving to Somerset to move with the majority of the gang.
Luckily they met only traders on their way so they got to Somerset without problem.
New engine for Jeffry's and the shot up for repair. And the big party with the gang.
They went to Dexter and met with other twenty guys and girls from the gang Black Rock. Edgar Thoma himself congratulated them for their great work. It was great party and everybody got terribly drunk, there was just no way they will head back for Gateway in time. They were enjoying moment of peace with all the gang together. Last party for a long time. Almost everybody is going to Gateway and half of them will stay there to scout there and make the way for running lorry clearer. And maybe try to become heroes there. That would be awesome...
Now they were drinking and watching as their cars were getting guns mounted and some armor on them too...
So now it was just the time to drink a enjoy free time.
