after exiting vehicle the gunner's targetting line remains for the weapon. in fact, it stays even when vehicles are out of arc.

One of my people, Catherine Six, was in a custom arena combat with two NPCs. She was slain, but was OK after I finished, but her rifle is gone.

I'm not sure if death rules apply in customs, but if they do, she should be dead.

If they don't, shouldn't she still have her rifle?

Also in that event, one of my characters nearly emptied her shotgun, but she still apparently has 10 bullets. Still looking into that.

Yes not only are you A-OK after getting ped-killed, you also don't use ammo in your gun (except during the event, when you get back its fine), and you get back any reloads you used.

This was in a custom event.

Verified pedestrians rise from the grave after an event as well.

I've killed my junk test character Jill Valentine, as has DV. Seiler ripped apart Guy Dice as well and he's fine.

It seems like the game doesn't save what happens to them during an event (except the missing rifle of Catherine Six).

More info on Catherine.

She was in a car of mine when killed in an arena event. The game thinks she's still alive, but only sort of. I can't remoeve her from one of my cars.

It says, when I tried to scout with her in a car:

Scout cannot start because Catherine Six is busy in an event.

This is a crazy one, Id eployed two footsoldiers during a combat, and had them return to their desert stalkers. When they went back in the cars, they disappeared!

However, they are still in my gang and back on the gang page. I just couldn't use them for the rest of the battle.

Jansan, I checked event ID 26698 and in fact the problem here was that the game server crashed while saving Catherine's injuries. I'll check into that.

Do you have any other event IDs where injuries were not saved? I have checked some other events and they worked fine with ped injuries.

I think I've found it: the process of killing a pedestrian is crashing the gameserver if they have weapons. Should be easy to fix.

I think this happens with unconscious/dead gunners too.  The line will follow the car way out of the normal arc.

I can reproduce it pretty easily; I mean I've killed Jill Valentine (my test junk ped) a bunch of times. Of course, the race I did where that happened.... for some reason it was broken and didn't end, and it's not in my event log.

She also never carried a weapon. And of course the first few times she was killed, the event crashed, so I guess it didn't save then.

Is this the same thing related to ammo not saving too or is that different?

Oh, and Catherine is still in semi-limbo... She refuses to get out of the car. If kicking her from the gang will fix her (she technically died anyway), then I can do that. Wanted to make sure you checked it out first though in case it could help.

Edit: I believe Guy Dice died in this event - Slaughter in the Pit - Custom Defined Event (event ID 26708)

But he's A-OK right now.

PED SURRENDER

i was in a game (same one that turn bugged me) and when i told the guys to surrender their guys hopped out. the ones in the vehicle closest to me started to make a beeline for it.

however, after playing around with one of them i looked at the other car and the guys were just standing there in the open next to it. i found this out right as one got ran over. it was needless to say quite a bit of work to get them out of there. one of them also ran veeerrry slowly even for an injured guy (crouch speed bug?).

i had to escape another guy and tried to click on spot at the wall for him to go to (thought if you could get to the outer wall you were safe) but found it was not clickable as a destination. anyway, it would be nice to have a clearer way to escape. or perhaps i just need a clarification.

also "safe zones" on maps would be nice, marked areas where your ped disappears when they get there. this might also make it easier for AI to escape, since they only have to beeline it to the nearest safe zone which is alot easier than figuring out enemy LOS, etc.

Oh, did you find out a cause for the "guys not showing up when they get back in the car" bug?

I only saw it happen once (In the ID above I mentioned this happening).

Was this patched in Sam? If so, it looks like it's still happening. Not the crash, the event ran fine, but the not counting ammo. Princess Hurt and Moon Blood fired a few rifle rounds during the event, and their rifles still say 20 shots.

Neither where hurt though, so I can't say if injuries are working.

Still not counting used ammo. Still no permanent injury (I would though being hit by car doing 60 mph can make you lose some parts for some time or something like that).
If the character is going down and you change the position to crouch he will crhouch instead and then stand up again so I had unconscious character standing upright :D Looked funny :D
Also I dont understand how you determine whne you can and when you cannot crouch, but that might be just me being stupid....
On the whole pedestrians need some work while moving with them and such...

Thanks for verifying that Monty. Sam said he fixed it before, it must just not have been patched yet?

I'll test it again when he patches again. I use footsoldiers constantly in combats now. Ped hits still don't count towards scoring, but its fun anyway.

I also noticed those graphical glitches you mentioned, but I imagine those will get smoothed out over time, the animator said he wa sdoing more stuff with how people got hit too.

Are you sure it was 60mph? Your character Lana Wilson didn't take any serious injury, just 'buffeted by a strong blow'. Unfortunately I didn't have it log impact speed, but I will in future.

D'oh, you're right. I was counting used reload ammo but not used ammo in the actual weapon.

At least 50 mph and I am sure about it. But it was only Alpha if this change the impact, but I still think it should have done a bit more damage to me... But it might be just me trying to get this character killed (already died once and still alive and I dont have the heart to tell her to go away :D)
