Peter "Bill" Gates skids into the parking lot of the one and only bar in the Badlands Truckstop. He jumps out of a common vehicle in town, the fuel truck of Longo's Merry Men. "Where is Trooper Anthony?" I need to talk to him...NOW!" "He is over there in the corner, playing cards with some of Latte's boyz, and that one guy from Hand Gesture who never seems to lose" says the barkeep. "Trooper Anthony... the gangs in Firelight are becoming pretty famous again...I was escorting 3 buses up here, one of ours and 2 from allied gangs. We ran into the first of em at the Gates. I flashed our colors...and they started shooting rather than let us pass! They killed bam's ganger, and Flame's bus rolled. His guys got out, but ole Flame is too poor to buy em guns, so they tried to flip the bus back over. One of them damn Darkwind done blew one of their legs off!" At this point, the young ganger has to stop, swallow hard and take a deep breath to continue. " I only had the fuel truck, so I kept driving and had Trooper John Clarke turn our bus around and try and help em. John rammed one of them damn pirate cars on his way back. It was terrible. There was nothing left of them halfbreds. But the collison caused the front gun on the bus to break in half. So ole John had to turn around and beat feet himself. Flame's guys made it back to Firelight, but we lost the 2 buses. Then we ran into Warthog. They wouldnt let us pass either... the hills were steep...John couldnt get the bus up the hill so he turned around and started back at the pirates...Trooper Anthony....he knew after he turned that bus around that the only thing he could do was buy us time... I only heard a terrible noise and the grinding of metal as the fuel truck and Flame's marley crested that big hill, and then I heard them dang Warthog boys screaming. Whatever John did, Sir, he bought us the time we needed. But he isnt coming home." "Round of drinks for everyone, in honor of John, and for our allied gangers who didnt make it home safely" exclaimed Trooper Anthony. Then he turned to Gates. "Spread word to the other gangs that the Firelight area needs eradicatin!"
