I guess I'll introduce myself.

I'm 21, have a girlfriend and live together with her in an apartment in Westfield Massachusetts (USA). Ive gone to a vocational highschool where I obtained my not-so-fantastic A+ Technician certification. After spending time working at Compusa, I decided that computers are definately not what I want to have a career in. I have since decided to become a pilot! Even though I have an awful job, installing Epoxy floors.

I have played games since the NES days, and have owned every major console release up to the X360/PS3/Wii generation. However, Computers to me have been and always will be the best platform for gaming. No contest.

I play games ranging from grand strategy such as Hearts of Iron, to twitch based games like Day of Defeat Source. I am an active participant in World war 2 Online, and am a Pilot serving with the 333rd British Knights under the alias "Namikaze". I have interests in all things military, including watching the military channel regularly, and I also play Airsoft.

I play Tabletop strategy like Warhammer, and card games like Magic the Gathering. The ultimate to me however, are simulations ala. IL-2 Sturmovik, LOMAC, Falcon 4.0, T-72 Balkans on fire. Nothing compares to a nice relaxing flight in my favorite flight sims!

Realism Realism Realism! cant get enough of it.

Hey Metzger,

I saw Falcon 4.0 mentioned.
I played it religiously for a LONG time!
You might even recognize my avatar here.

Look over this site:
Bashers Falcon4 homepage

I don't fly F4 anymore but I still update the site from time to time.

Hmm I guess I never really introduced myself all those weeks ago.  Checking the age ranges, I may be the youngest of the Old Farts at 32 (can we form an alliance that name, when that feature comes around? :D).

I've been pretty much been playing computer games since the days of Pong and come to the realization that playing games is not a phase as most people think :D  Generally played most genres of computer games, but strategy / turn based and rpgs being my favorites.

Dark Wind was an instant hit for me and subscribed on the second day.  It was exactly the computer based implementation of Car Wars that i've been looking for all these years (thanks Sam!) - tbh I was searching around for some kind of rogue-like game that would feature vehicular combat when I stumbled on DW in a mac game website.  At first I thought the game was Mac only, but my disappointment didn't last long of course when I found the Windows executable ;)

Love this game even as is, and can't wait for the new additions.  Hopefully we can recreate a little Midville MONDO Somerset SONDO motorcycle mayhem when we get pedestrians and motorcycles :D

Myself, I am a 23 year old Australian, currently living in NZ. Studying finance and management here at Uni in Auckland.

My first game experience was Warcraft , and i have had the old school RTS bug ever since, clocking up Warcraft1/2. Lords of the Realm1/2, Dune 2 etc. After getting into tactical strategy, I got into rpg; which eventually led me to Fallout and have been in semi-fanboy land since, while playing other games such as WoW etc.

I have never played car wars, though I do have a soft spot for vehicular warfare, what got me here was a Pic of the Week in NMA(fallout site), what got me subscribed and kept me here was the new(for me) and interesting gameplay, and you folks. That and some hilarious *oh ####* moments while racing

I think thats 'nuff said.

So, which side of the Fallout 3 fence do you sit on, gonna rock or gonna suck? Me personally, I'm leaning toward rock.

im leaning toward looking forward. i personally LOVED morrowind to bits, being that the title for the most "pure" rpg is between ultima and morrowind imo :D, haven't played oblivion yet, but looking forward to it, so i'm not unhappy bethesda is doing it, and am content to buy it and play it before i judge it

Hello everyone. I was introduced to this game by doubletap on another forum. Used to be a pretty big Car Wars fan. I even bought the new (fifth edition I believe) rule books that no one played. I've searched the Car Wars forums about every six months or so for something like this and so far it looks great!

Oh yeah, I'm 36 from Wichita, KS. I'm lucky to have a decent bar job and only have to work 3 days a week or so. Expect to see me on here a lot.

Guess it's my turn. I'm 27...originally from Detroit but living in Florida (near Tampa) with plans to move to Denver. I'm really not much of a gamer tbh. Started on computers when I was 3 (Atari 2600 anyone?) with some silly programs that my dad had written in Basic and then we moved up to the all powerful Atari ST (he was a computer tech). I have a deep love for computers and technology but an even deeper love for music. Started with guitar when I was 5 and have been making music ever since (I'd list my gear but we'd be here for a week...lol). I'm also teaching myself graphic design (yay for photoshop tutorials!).

Ironblood introduced me to Darkwind and I've been hooked since. The gameplay and the community of people really make for a fun time. Other games I've actively played are America's Army (2 months then deemed it boring), Entropia Universe (8 months then deemed it a waste of money), and then Second Life (15 months and going strong)...and of course DW now.

Hello. My name's Neil and I live in Leeds in England with my girlfriend. I used to play Car Wars as a kid (I'm 35). I got here through reading a post on the wargamer.com website. I have a nasty tendency to lurk on forums but am trying to do some posting here.

I play a lot of strategy games, the Combat Mission series, Civ and plenty of city building type games. I also play cricket for a local team as I'm obliged to be out in the midday sun (when there is some).

I'm guessing Toodles means something different over there!

Cricket:
"You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he is out. When they are all out, the side that's been out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out, he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who are all out all the time, and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game."

Simple enough

Well, as I've been around a week or so and keep saying I will stay I suppose I should do my bit.

I'm early 30s (still young ;)) living with my 2 best friends in a big 3 bedroom house.

I have the luxury of working from home as a self emplyed web developer and I'm currently the only designer/coder/tester/etc on a project developing an online hotel booking system. It's easily the complex thing I've ever worked on. Did you know in the UK all hotels work out their prices differently - many small ones base prices on the weather and what colour pants they are wearing. Nightmare.

I worked for Siemens/Plessey that then got bought by British Aeropsace and turned into BAe Systems. I started as a programmer and then moved onto support. Decided corporate cubicles were not for me so I got out and did a few crappy little jobs before becoming an MCSE.

Was Technical Manager in a company in Poole, Dorset (UK) writing an online e-learning system. Company went tits up so I went solo. It's been hard at times and took me a while to get teh self discipline to work when I had to. Just about got it sussed :)

I've been a 'gamer' since my parents brought me up on boardgames and an RPer since my parents bought me a load of D&D stuff for my birthday once. Still an RPer and gamer although I do play the gee-tar.
Fave game is probably Ultima IV followed by VII part 2. Love MMORPGs and played UO when it practically came out. Played most of 'em and was a forum mod for a couple and was even a GM in one.

Current projects are numerous web games I haven't finished (a battletech interplanetary wargame, "Cars with Guns" similar to this without the 3D bit, a cyberpunk inspired city gang war game and numerous others). Also lead designer for an MMORPG which has been put on the back burner for various reasons (we are talking to a publisher atm for a licence for a well known PnP RPG :). Will rock if we get it )

Also have a bunch of small development team web apps (project management, file storage, bug tracking, knowledgebase, sales database and other assorted junk). I must polish them as there are various small companies that want to pay to use them... I must find the time :stare:

Anyway, that's enough. I am not working this afternoon 'cos it's too sunny - but I'm still stuck in doors. I might log on for a race or two as I'm here...
