So if a character with 100% activity doesn't have the luckiest roll ever, they are going to drop dead.  :o

Hopefully, you mean over their current activity level.

Beat me to the punch, Marrkos.  :D

Thinking about your comments about getting some warning, I wonder?

Under Injuries on the character window, show a reduced activity level with the injury listed as Age Related Decline, and you just don't heal from it.

I not liking the idea that you die whenever 1 of your 3 attributes drops to zero..

you could have 90 strength yet 15 dex and die real soon... doesn't sound fair or realistic

Edit: actually i don't want to know, i don't think this should not be discussed in the player forum

i know when i get close to a zero ability that character is going to become a griever and i hope to kill as many players as i possibly can, id rather die in pvp than of old age at 35 or less cause i do have guys with high streanth and low speed.

ya spend 2 years building up characters and no fault of yer own, there not shot up or killed, yet because you chose to work up a character with a low ability yer punished and they die young leaving you to have to try to work up a replacement leader that takes a long time to match my current ldr score. not at all happy about this its a disincentive to playing,

i understand its a harsh environment and dont expect to live to an old age but never thought id be dead before 35. if i had ida fired them 2 years ago.

I'm going to make a change so that speed and dexterity never drop to zero, therefore it's only strength that kills you at zero. This is more in line with the role that strength has always had in the game (it's a combination of str+con in D&D language.. I always thought it was a bit redundant having them as separate stats)

Of course, since everyone recently started with zero mileage, no character is actually anywhere near having aging effects yet.

Just to let you know how this has finally been implemented:

Mileage is a hidden attribute
- goes up with heavy injury and radiation poisoning
- goes up with the abuse of certain drugs
- added to Age for computing aging effects

I have set Mileage to be 0 for all existing characters

I have reduced the effect of age on its own, and put more emphasis on Mileage, i.e. the combined effect of age and injuries/rad poisoning. So a character who doesn't do very much will expect to live well into their 60s or 70s, while a really active who has taken a lot of punishment will likely expire in their 40s.

Also, older characters (age 36+) with skills over 100 will automatically boost the training of their skills in the same town that they're in.

Just took a look over my characters. Fortunately, my median strength is well above 50 (57, in fact) and only 1/3 of my gang is below 50.

Is this typical for other people? I definitely wasn't selecting for high strengths... was much more interested in dex and spd.
