Howdy-
I'm a long time table top miniature wargamer and I think there's a few others here too, so I thought I'd pass this along.

Abberant has a new game coming out, 20mm scale I think.

Used to love doing tabletop. Still would if I could find the time (and space to store it all). I would spend hours salvaging old plastic models, toy tanks, etc and gluing bits onto Matchbox Cars to create Car Wars vehicles. Converting old train set accessories into terrain, buildings, etc.

So, she's wearing a Shemagh (or very close) because it's important to cover up and keep the dirt out of her face, but pornstar jeans-shorts are apparently all the rage in the post-apocalypse.

And food must not be scarce; look at those .... fat reserves.

Why do female characters always have as few clothes as possible?  (rhetorical)

Hmmmm. Obviously no bra and yet no nipples showing. This thing isn't human, maybe not even mammalian. Possibly some sort of mutant insect mimic that uses its superficial human appearance to get inside your defence perimeter where it will suck the life right out of you.

Yes I miss the days of playing table-top CW's...I went nuts...built an 8 x 6' arena with movable walls, spike pits (with spring loaded covers), pillars that could rise out of the floor at inopportune times, turret towers...egads.
We used Hot Wheels cars and modeling putty to make turrets, ground-effects...armor...then stuck bits on for weapons (or cut-down WH40K bits). We used 'actual-size' smoke/paint clouds, actual flaming oil (yes, the burning type) and all sorts or nasty things, including firecrackers (make great debris counters after explosions/rams etc).
...can't wait to get my insanely huge WH40K collection out of storage.

Received this today.

Without taking anything out of the bags:

The vehicles are bigger than I expected, unpainted, gray plastic (it appears). Roll cages and little men are unpainted metal (lead?). Roll cages are separate pieces that can be attached as desired.

When I have more time, I'll try to get some pictures uploaded, if anybody cares.

I doubt they are lead after all this china/lead toys hoopla (lol kids today are weak - we used to make our own lead figurines as a young teenager).

Prolly Diecast.

Yeah, lead would surprise me, but I don't know what they use for miniatures these days.

Warlands Pictures

Some so-so photos.  The cast quality of both the metal and plastic models seems a bit mediocre, but I don't have a really good frame reference as it has been many moons since I did anything with miniatures.

A quick scan of the 'Drivers Manual' (8.5 x 11 (folded in half) booklet) gives me the following interesting bits:

Quote:
This starter set includes 2 Weasel Scout vehicles (1 armed with Spud autogun, the other with a Rocket Launcher) and 1 Utility Truck.  These form a good central core to either a Nomad, Lotek, or even a mercenary force.  The Warlands Core Rulebook will contain complete force lists for Nomads and Loteks including stats for mechs, flyers and pedestrians, as well as complete rules for designing and customizing your own vehicles.

Quote:
Models
Warlands uses a number of metal and plastic miniatures created and produced by Aberrant.  These models are divided into four main categories:
Pedestrian - Human and animal-sized models that are on foot (claw, hoof, etc.)
Walkers - Large creatures, and machines (such as mechs) that are not wheeled or tracked,
Vehicles - Includes everything from bikes and buggies to cars, trucks and big-rigs.
Flyers - As the name suggests, vehicles or creatures that fly as their main mode of movement.

Types of Vehicles
There are six different types of vehicles in Warlands; most of these are wheeled with the exception of Armor and that may be tracked.  There are also up to four different speed levels for most vehicles.

Bikes
Buggies
Cars
Trucks
Big-Rigs
Armor

Other rules (again, just a quick scan) seem to be quite similar to CW.

Here's an article from TMP about some music to go with the Warlands game. Kind of interesting, not sure I'll pick up the game yet though.
