As you know, your gang's fame increases with each good track/arena performance. Over time it drifts back to zero.

The following rules will be used for fame and reputation in the wilderness (the code has mostly been written and will be patched in later today):

1) Possible reputation decrease for each participating player gang in a squad if the opponent was an NPC trader. If you accept the trader's truce you get no reputation decrease, of course.

2) Possible rep. decrease if you attack a high-reputation human squad who offered a truce.

3) Possible reputation increase when you defeat a low rep. opponent.

4) Possible fame increase for participating players in winning squad, and possible fame decrease for participating players in losing squad. The amount of increase/decrease depends on the relative fames of the squads involved.

These are all more likely to happen in a 'gates of' than in a 'pure wilderness' mission, since they depend on some third party actually witnessing the battle.

Later on, fame and reputation will become more important:

1) If you have a high fame and reputation, the more lucrative NPC missions (courier, bodyguard etc.) will be offered to you.

2) If you have a bad reputation you will be attacked more by NPCs, and you will eventually have a bounty offered on your head.

Fame has a minimum value of zero, where 0 means you're a total unknown.
Reputation has a 'normal' value of zero: positive values mean you're known to be a 'good guy' while negative values mean you're known to be a 'bad guy'.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention morale. This goes up/down depending on wilderness victory or defeat, of course. It's affected more if your opponent's fame was very different to your own.

Morale will actually range from 0-200, for some strange reason. And town events will affect it as well as wilderness battles (although by a lesser amount).
