The darkwind website keeps crashing IE to the point where I have to terminate the process (cant terminate the application) in task manager.

It happens when i close IE or navigate away from the Darkwind site. The whole computer locks up.. CPU usage goes to 100% and sticks there. IE shows as not responding in the task manager.

I would think it was my computer but it does this on no other websites i have found.

Any technical types out there have any ideas?

(other than the usual one of 'why are you using that microsoft crap.... I'm using it because i am technically illiterate :))

any ideas anyone.. this is getting silly... even navigating away from the DW website to another page can lock IE up completely.

Used to behave in the same manner for me, install 'Firefox' its very user friendly and dweeb tolerant. Seriously this cured the problem for me, must just be an IE failure to recognise software, it is bug ridden

I get the same. I'm running IE7, on WinXP-home

When I start DW Client, I usually open of 2 windows:
- Ganger pages (with 4 tabs opened: Info, Characters, Vehicles and squads) ... and assorted
- Forum page

When I go to close IE after a DW session, IE does the same things you describe and just plain locks up. I usually just kill it in Task Manager.

You have 'goat' to be kidding me...

how about:

Type firefox into google
Click on the first result
Click on the big download link
Run whatever it is that downloads

(if you can work out how to play video games, working out how to install software should be a doddle - join the 21st century!)

Sorry about that. I have noticed an error message in IE7 on the front page. I have fixed it already for the new website I'm working on; will fix the current site too now.

I didn't realise it was causing a serious problem for others (it's nothing more than a popup message for me, no crash).

edit: sheesh, it took a while to find again actually. A clash between the code in the google adverts and another code library ('prototype') - updating the version used in the latter fixed it.
