There are some other maps that have water; but most of Evan is desert or very arid.

There a map between Elms and SS that has a few "ponds" and one between BL and GW that has murky water. Sorry, I am terrible with names... :p

Gates of Elmsfield
Lost Oasis
Elmsfield Lake Track
Forever Yellow Skies

That I know of, I have 'water' in a new one I made...

P.S. Stay out of it with cars, it kills engine in 3-5 turns I believe... on Gates of Elms at least.

Not any more. The only engine killing water in Elms seems to be the deep water in the lake past the little "continental shelf".

The AI drives around in the little ponds on Gates of Elms for as long as it wants without engine damage. I got one stuck underwater at the building for a dozen turns until it freed itself and kept driving underwater.

An NPC car stuck in the water for enough turns will auto-demo, though.

Yeah, but, how many turns, and how deep of water? Does demo time vary with water depth? What is the minimum water depth that can demo a vehicle?

so many questions, so little time.  Again, I guess I'll try this out in tactical.

I'm told that in earlier versions of darkwind, underwater demo was very common, and that if you as a player went through certain water traps at a high speed to make it through under a certain number of turns, the AI that followed would not be fast enough, and they would auto-demo and give you pristine cars.

It takes a few turns but not a lot. If I had to guess, which I don't, but I will, I'd say somewhere around 6 turns to demoralize an NPC. . . probably no fewer. I could be way off, though.

From what I've heard others say, it's something like 3 rounds with water over the roof as a base. Other factors will modify it. more than likely - I had a turtled car in the water that demo'd almost right away.

In Forever yellow Skies, the murky water isnt that deep. Ive driven thru it alot. I just try and drive out of it for a turn or so when I am in it, and havent ever taken damage from what I recall. Ill drive up a wall or something just to be out of it for a turn.

Hehehe. I don't think that's even water. I've always heard that's just supposed to be thick, nasty fog.
