Hi. I am a MAC User and I would help the developer team in resolve some MAC Issues.

On the first launch of darkwindLobby.jar I get a crash of java:

Woosh...

That's very weird, because there has been no crash report with Java on the Mac side for last 6 months, on both G4 and Intel (I own both machines) chipsets.
I run 10.4.9 Os with nearly latest updates (I did not yet upgraded to latest updates from last week).

Could you provide details of your system and Mac hardware?

Edit: just noted the system info in the debug reporter log.
My system version seems newer: Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P2137)
I would recommend updating your system.

here is my operating system:

MAC OS X PPC 10.4.9 (Powerbook G4)

The file darwindLobby.jar on launch now give me:

mmh something changed by developers?

...or is my laptop?

DarwindOSXClientPPC seems to work.....

DarwindOSXClientPPC Version: Build 51, Script 97, Media 40

tucano, did you try the latest java lobby version? (it's build #27)

You can manually get it from here:

http://www.dark-wind.com/gameEngine/darkwindLobby.jar

and copy it into the root darkwind folder, over-writing the old lobby in there.

I was just helping him in driving school, so I do believe he's good to go!

Tucano, it's best to use the .jar to run the updates. It's quicker than the client. I usually do it before I launch the client just in case. And then you need the client to play and chat.

Tucano you can use both, but:
1) the java lobby performs auto-patching for the game, so it's to run it at first at least once a day
2) the java lobby is very lightweight
3) game client can't perform auto-patching as well and as well as the previously mentionned one
4) game client is a cpu and network ogre

use the java lobby!

I noticed recently a few problems myself, that are close to what you are reporting. I'm investigating it, but it's a very weird one.

Currently all I can say is: keep an old java lobby in a safe place and once the current one is ceasing to work, replace it with the old one...
... until we find what's going wrong.

Heh. Part of the idea of the Java lobby is that you could leave in minimised on your taskbar (or whatever it is you Mac people call it) even when not playing DW. You can then receive IMs and game alerts which pop it up to your attention.

FYI, the game client's patching has actually been disabled entirely in favour of the Java lobby.
