The new garage fees and lockup fees (increased particularly in the dangerous small towns) are now displayed on your gang's lockup and vehicles pages.

Note that these figures are not yet being charged, and until 3rd Sept will be for information purposes only.

There is still some room for maneuver on these - it's all about balancing of course, so please do comment if you wish...

$287,650
And I have sold over 30 cars in last 2 days.

$216,436 is BL. I have managed all of the other towns except BL.....its my "Hub" town...my home so I have more cars there...Any chance of designating a home town and getting a discount?

Longo, I think the reason that your fees are so high is that BL/GW are such small towns.

Your hometown idea is a good one. Though I think it should increase the cost in other towns by a fraction of the decrease in your home town.

Agreed as longo i have sold over half my fleet in past two days, my main base is BL my leader is there and my top gangers, so off course my best equipment is there. But the BL garage is probably costing me 80% + of my entire garage fee which at present is 87k

My fees for 10 vehicles in GW are over 18k. Which is about the same as a profit of a single average scout.

The 45 vehicles in somerset cost only approx 5k, so the difference is very, very steep. Each car in GW costs the same as 15-20 in Somerset.

Scouting from the truckstops might become very difficult for casual players. The updated fees will most certainly steer the action away from the truckstops and towards the towns.

My total fees for cars and lockups are $260k per WEEK. And I didn't even think I had that much stuff. That's a million a month. Talk about a false economy...

What's so wrong with hoarding? It's good enough for dragons.

I don't think that this is at all reasonable.

My fees of only 20k compared to the fees of the other make me feel that this change is geared toward folks with my play style.

And that I am alone in it.

Quote:
Question on Lock up fees... we had talked at one time that ammo would be removed from lockup fees ...is this the case?

I went to the code to remove ammo.. and found that they have actually always been ignored for lockup costs. The main reasoning behind this is that they're a pain in the backside to buy only as you need them and are in any case always available in the NPC shops; hence we're simulating you only buying them as needed but actually not forcing you to do it.

Quote:
What about tires...they could be stored outside easy enough.

Tyres are less clear.. the storage cost isn't just about protection from the elements, it's mostly about protection from theft.

Jety, wounded, etc.:

Maybe we should reduce the large hike that has been made to the small towns and truckstops. I'd rather wait for some more feedback from others first, and possibly run a vote if necessary.

This isn't so much about stopping hoarding, as about creating a moneysink. Yes, the economy is out of whack and this will hopefully help it; it will certainly reduce inflation. I think storage and protection fees really would be very high in Evan, with piracy murder and theft so common.

I may seem to be on all the time, but if you check my events for the past week, you will see that i don't make many scouts, so i may scout as much as a casual player. only as an example and not a complaint, to make my garage fee at present would be extremely hard work, and would feel like a required grinding, to be able to just stay on par ( please this sounds like whining but isnt ) so i think this would really impact a player that wasn't so much a community person as myself, but a player that just occasional jumps into lobby, play the odd scout and race, may find it hard to keep his gang alive and his interest also

Have yet to work it out in detail but by the looks of it I have about 250k in garage and lockup fees a week. I have just sold enough cars to make 1.5 million to the shop too :-). Guess I will have to sell some more stuff off. I like the hometown idea, how about making it so you get a discount based on how many gang members you have there to represent providing your own security? (maybe ganger hours if possible to calculate - much like training is).

I still think this is unnecessarily hurting the more casual player. My garage fees alone are over 52 grand; there are many weeks I don't make nearly this much. Is your advice to me to "Scout more?" Depending on people's schedules they may not be able to scout enough to cover these new prices. Which could drive players away.

136 k a week here

14.8 k on one vehicle, good job i sold those 2 other ft's !!!

i Like the idea of a home town very much, that would help

I certainly dont scout anywhere near enough to cover the cost, i dont cover the cost of my fees at the moment anyway !.

The incentive to scout BL would seriously disappear at these rates, unless rares would appear more often i wouldnt bother staying there to be honest. I rarely keep a vehicle i loot and with vehicle storage costs being 20 x the value of SS whats to stop me moving back there and grinding to keep the money rolling in if that was my motivation?

I understand the need for a money sink but i think at this high will just empty those "premium" towns.

well my fees are 212k for garaging.. thats with storing a great big bunch of faster pussycat race cars in most towns.. and having a pretty big stable of cars...

I'm cool with that.. its what.. 4 scouts to cover all my garage costs... lockup is only 22k which is looting one pho in SS.

BL is expensive.. but then BL is tiny... move the cars you dont use out of BL and its not a problem. very few people can have that many cars they actually use... just move the vanity collection to SS and bobs your uncle!

maybe you can make 50k in one scout if its a BL solo goat, i certainly cant and you honestly scout more than the average player wouldn't you say.

I might be the only one, but i actually don't mind the new fees.

What is the use of having 20 buzzers in 1 town. it's not like you are going to do a 20 buzzer scout.

At the moment i'm selling all the crap i don't actually need and that is a LOT.

The new fees will force you to sell stuff you don't need, and will never use.
This will make prices drop and stop inflation.

The only cheap town should be SS, to help the new kids.

example
A squad with a Firetruck and 2 buzzers will cost you about 20K.
If you have 2 of those and some other stuff your monthly fee will be about 60-80K.

And just be fair, do you need a lot more?

I know the amount you see now is a shock, But that is becouse your garage is SO big with stuff you don't need.

As for the implementation, i would advise for a gradual approach over 5-6 weeks.
This will give players time to adjust and sell stuff.

I also feel that this change will dry the small towns up to an extent. I have a couple of apaches sitting in Badlands TS waiting on the occasional scout. If it costs me nearly 10k a week for these to sit there then I am going to move them out and not even scout there.

My suggestion would be find another 'optional' money sink.
