I have been working on Town Attack PvP Combats for the past couple of days, and I'm hoping to run the first test event tomorrow (Friday) at 22:30 server time.

These are consentual-pvp combats.

Here's how they work:

1. Town Attack Combats are pre-scheduled and appear in the Events Diary. I envisage several running each week.
2. They consist of two NPC-owned squads: the town Militia and the attacking Pirates
3. To join in, you click either squad and join it (no password).
4. You can add your own vehicle (only 1) to the squad, or by not adding any vehicle at all you will take control of one of the NPCs in the event when you log in.
5. You cannot see who else has joined, or what vehicles they're using. All you see is the total number of humans signed up.
6. Only if you added your own vehicle will you be allowed into the looting (if you win)

There's various bonuses to these events:
* accelerated field training (the more humans involved, and the greater the overall hidden 'brutality rating' of the combat as it plays out, the higher this goes)
* potential gain of hero points to the Militia members if they win (again, brutality rating is a factor)
* potential gain of rare hardware to the Pirate members if they win (again, brutality rating is a factor)
* Large reputation gain/loss as appropriate

These combats will tend to spawn in piracy hotspots, and the result of them will directly affect the local town's piracy rating.

OK, the test event is now set up and ready to go at 22:30 server time today (Friday Sept. 4).

Please remember this is a first test so bugs are possible, and the correct balancing of hero point gains and rare hardware loot is only a first attempt based on estimations.

There were a few bugs, but hopefully all are ok now. Next test is Wednesday at 20:00. See the Events Diary.

I have set an upper limit of 8 players per squad and 350 CR per vehicle.
