well now i have your attention Jimmy

my wifes macbook charger has started behaving oddily, it sometimes shows green led but doesnt show a charge others shows orange and isnt charging, then sometimes the led is un lit and has no effect on mac book, we can sometimes leave the charger un plugged and it works for a while, other times it works for ages with no probs arrrgggghhhh ... we have even had the flashing mac grey screen ( which i sorted by battery removal , hold start for 10 secs )

Is this a charger problem or the mag connection or something else, i know you maccers are anal can you offer some advice

It's a bad charger most likely, but the only way to know for sure is to try another one. Do you have a friend (besides me - someone closer to you geographically

) that has one? Even from a MacBook Pro (different wattage, but will still work)? That way you can know for sure.

Have seen this happen a couple of times and a new charger has fixed it every time.
