My baby:

Thinking of ripping out the CGL in exchange for an ATG. Is it worth it? So, the front will have two HMGs, while the rear has one ATG, giving my Apache the additional speed boost as well when it fires

I'm one of those that actually likes the ATG. :)

You'll here differing opinions. The only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. You'll hear some say that it's not worth it until you have a very highly skilled large gunner, but that can be said with ANY weapon.

Yes.

I ran a boxvan with one, almost as good as a rocketbooster. However it did miss a lot.

A Full TankGun Unflipped my Lorry. I have a soft spot for these guns now.

Thanks. I was thinking it could work too if I'm using it to run courier missions and need the additional boost in speed to escape. Approx how much speed boost can I get? Is it noticeable if I'm accelerating at a good pace, like say 3mph every turn?

Oh it's noticeable, not sure how much, just be careful shooting it while turning at high speed.
