"Still," Dong continued, "we're happy and proud to accept our first league victory and look forward to claiming more."

Braune Clan Hammer

V's

Skidmark The Vermin

An absolutely epic battle was fought in SCL Division 4 last week. This nail biting, edge of your seat combat was one of the toughest PVP battles ever witnessed in Evan.
With Skidmark fielding 10 flashes against a marly, 2 voyages and a mercenary, it resulted in an extremely close match.
Many times throughout this hard fought battle victory seemed certain, only to be snatched away at the last minute. So if you want to see some awesome action, heavy flame throwers, smoke and napalm guns and pedding watch the replay. event S647401
A well played match by all players.
The winner........guess you will have to watch the replay.

The story of Julio Toro

"####! ####! ####!" Julio Toro shouted to his HUD display while smashing both fists on the gunnery console. His gun had been destroyed, jammed and busted by that last rocket hit. The breach on the left side of their Windsor II was a gaping hole, letting smoke and dust into the cabin. Through the haze, he could see the enemy's pickup truck clearly, its dented armor still without a breach and its rocket ports opening up for another volley. Worse still, they were definitely not moving fast enough to turn away, despite the best efforts of Langley, their driver.

"Brace for another impact!" Julio yelled, turning to his brother Rafael who looked back at him helplessly. His gun had jammed also, the red light on the console blinking like a metronome of doom.

"No more guns! We are out!" Julio told Langley.

"I did notice that," Langley replied in his typically cool manner as he frantically spun the steering wheel towards starboard. Miraculously, the sedan slid down the sand dune, spinning fortuitously clockwise just as the sound of zooming rockets sent shiver's down Julio's spine. When the missile hit, there was a searing rush of heat and vibration, but no shrapnel. The heavy metal plates welded over the rear window took the brunt of the explosion. The Windsor lofted off of its back wheels and slammed down at an odd angle, bringing the vehicle to a sudden stop. The enemy's pickup narrowly missed them as it rushed past at speed. They were alive but sitting like ducks on a pond.

"He is coming around for another hit," Langley informed them as he tried to get the vehicle moving again. "Taking defensive action."

"Screw him!" Rafael shouted. It was the first thing the large brooding brother had said in hours and a rare exclamation in the heat of battle. More surprising was his next move. Rafael grabbed his shotgun off the seat, drew his revolver and in one swift move jumped out of the car. Julio watched helplessly. Running towards the pickup, Raf fired repeatedly, hitting with at least eight of ten quickly fired rounds. Laughing to himself in this grim moment, Julio noted that his brother had never hit so accurately at the practice range. Metal flew off the pickup's armor, but the small caliber rounds were useless in stopping the onslaught. The pickup's driver finished the turn and Julio could see the smiling eyes of his adversary as the rocket ports opened again; this time there was no turning away. The rockets flew, landing with a shuddering thud, just low of their target, exploding against the sand dune near the crippled Windsor. Devastating shrapnel, sand, fire and heat tore at Julio as he moved, instinctively, using his body to shield his driver from the blast. In this last heroic moment Julio Toro died instantly.

The CB radio crackled. It was the disembodied voice of their enemy taunting them. It said, "I will kill you and your whole family!"

It was too much for Langley, who had survived the latest attack. He grabbed the handset and shouted, "Quarter, quarter, quarter! We surrender."

The only response was a blast of machine gun fire, another weapon on the loaded pickup truck. A hail of bullets swept over Rafael as he raised his shotgun, dropping him with the impact of three rounds to the upper body, ripping flesh and cracking bones. Later, as they were dragging Langley from the car, the driver felt grateful to see the younger brother still breathing, his burly teenage frame miraculously powerful enough to absorb the .50 caliber impacts. At least that was some small solace.

"Is this Julio Toro? Your famous squad leader?" A growling voice asked rhetorically. It was the driver of the pickup, a woman of around 22 years of age, old for a gang banger and possibly pretty, except for the radiation burns that marked her skin.

"It was!" her compatriot, a hideously ugly mutant man, mocked.

"Well, that evens the score," the rad-burned woman noted. "You killed our boss and now we killed yours. Go back to the Gateway Truckstop and tell everyone what happens when you mess with The Tusk."

She ripped off Langley's headgear. The radiation of the sun immediately began burning his eyes. As his vision adjusted, he saw the rad-burned woman jump back into her pickup as the ugly mutant started up the Windsor. Both vehicles quickly vanished over the dunes, leaving Langley and the motionless Toro brothers behind. Raf moaned as Langley ripped open his first aid kit to slap-patch the teenager's bullet wounds. His combat vest had absorbed most of the gunfire, but the damage was still severe. Langley urged him to his feet. "Walk! We have to walk."

"Julio?" Rafael asked helplessly. Langley just shook his head and turned the boy away from where The Tusk had tossed his brother, keeping him from seeing the carnage. There was nothing to do but head down the road, back to Gateway. Langley reloaded Rafael's pistol and put it into one of the youngster's bloody hands.

They had to be ready. The mutant rats always come out near sunset.

Heroic Act in COE

Last week during a closely fought race outside Texas, George "Jim" Clark from Raging Scavengers, car caught on fire. After turning into an inferno and with a massive explosion only seconds away, Joseph Savage from Blood and Iron dived from his moving car, sprinted to the inferno and dragged the unconcious George "Jim" Clark from the blazing wreck. Both gangers were caught in the massive explosion that instantly followed, however, Joseph Savage managed to shield the unconscious ganger and both survived.
We all here at the Gazette would like to praise Necrotech and his brave ganger Joseph Savage from Blood and Iron for his quick thinking and heroic act. With no regard for his own personal safety,he saved the life of another. He truly is a Hero of Evan.

DARK-GEAR Buccaneer

Every issue of the gazette we will be putting a chassis to the test. This issue we hand over a Buccaneer to our team race driver......."Some say that when he slows down, brake lights come on in his buttocks, and he once successfully placed an entire roll of toothpaste back in the tube.
All we know is he’s called the Steg."

The Buccaneer is one of the best all round vehicles in Evan today. This nimble chassis will soak up the roughest of terrains both on and off the track.

If you can find them, a 5L-V8 engine will enhance acceleration and grip on the road to almost out-perform even the venerable De-Ville and the Royal Eaton.

Around the northern triangle a 3.2L and A-armour is more than enough. With a 3.2 V8 or 4L, these nimble rides make great scout trainers, couriers and taxis. Fit A-armour and a 5L or bigger, then your opponent will choke on your dust.
As an interceptor these cars are extremely useful. They are easy to power slide, there is nothing quite like sliding past your target at 100 m.p.h. with front guns blazing. With use of the e-brake they can bring front guns to bear on any pursuer. As well as this they are extremely difficult to turtle.

On the down side, they are VERY touchy above speeds in excess of 145 m.p.h.

The Buccaneer handles recoil ok. But
many gangs utilize car rifles and rockets to make full use of its handling and speed.

The Buccaneer is found all over Evan, but you will see more the further south you travel.

Handling- excellent (except above 145 m.p.h.)
Turning circle- good
Suspension- excellent
Recoil- average
Climbing ability- good
