While the majority of this road is a straight forward drive on packed sand, there are some spots that require a VERY well controlled car and slower speeds to negotiate and stay on the road. The `road` does give better traction and speed and the Pirates know it too! If you decide to run off-road, this is one of the easiest maps to do so. The sand dunes off-road are a mix of shifting sands and steep dunes making traction an issue with the heavier chassis vehicles. Off-road tires DO make a difference when you are concerned about the weight of your gun platform.  Image by Lord Foul Lightweight Musclecars and sedans tend to fare a little better on these dunes than the heavier `Tanks` and the larger trade runner vehicles. Lorries and smaller vans WILL have problems here with mobility only because of their sheer weight. It wont matter how many guns you have on the van or lorry if all of the pirates are swarming you all at once... Trust me, this reporter has lost a few Lorries on this map to that same Pirate tactic!
