"Congrats to the Bloody Renshai for sticking with it to place... its a war and an endurance test" - John "the ammo beotch" Swayze.
============================================================== The small dusty room set aside for Chisolm's interviews sees a flurry of activity, mostly two-bit deathracers and wannabes. He's about to call it a night when Dexter's employee returns, obviously nervous. “There's a group of individuals who'd like to meet with you.” The barkeep spits out the words mechanically, eyes glancing back out into the hallway. James motions for the server to let them in. He is surprised at the bearing of the group that enters, not your normal desert riff-raff. These individuals are precise, every movement efficient, their uniforms immaculate. ============================================================== Ward "Warlord" Cleaver, 22, leader of the Privateer company known as SwordStroke Enterprises looks over the cub reporter. He gives off the aura of one who has seen this type before, knows their world, and has little but disdain for their naivete. He also looks as if he has seen the world himself, a little too much of it in fact. He has a harness covering most of his body which keeps a fully functioning prosthetic arm and prosthetic leg combo in place. He wears an old military cap that looks much like those of a Legionnaire but with ear flaps like one would wear in cold weather. A scaring of tissue along his right cheek leads up under the one lowered flap, obviously covering the hole where his ear used to be. It seems the only thing he needs to complete the set would be an eye patch. However both eyes are sharp like daggers, seeing not only what is in front of him, but the room and it's happenings as well. Approaching the table is Britney "Chuck Some" Spears, 24. A badge on her service jacket indicates that she has served the organization in the Gateway region prior to baing recalled to Somerset. Her collar rank indicates she is the 3rd in command. Which of course really makes her 4th in command, as SSE has a "First Lady" (Ward's Wife June "Headhunter" Cleaver who is not present) Britney grimaces as she sits, easing herself into the seat in a way favoring and reducing the weight on her left side. "Weather is making my bad side act up." She says apologetically. "I've probably broken every bone on my left side at least once." The interviewer pipes up immedatly. Appearantly not one for small talk. Or, perhaps the atmosphere of Dexter's isnt agreeing with him today. Can you tell me about the origins of your gang? Ward fields this one nearly as soon as the interviewer's lips close together. "I wasnt here in the beginning. None of us were. But I've been over a Samyer. If you aren't a devotee of the great blood God *Sam*, that is about 52 of our months, 1 year in his godly realm" Ward even manages to pronounce the "*" with reverence "I think it was 2061 that I became Leader. This was after the unfortunate death of John 'Porn Star' Holmes who got ran over in the Somerset Arena. He was the boss when I joined up" Britney adds "Run over... Repeatedly. Cant trust some of these cretins around here. None of us remember who did it. I was in Gateway with my husband, at that time he was my boyfriend; Jesus 'H' Christ. He'd just finished wandering in the wilderness after crashing a Corghette and couldn't remember his past. Good times, Good times." Ward continues "It may be that the Company was intended to be a paramilitary force for the Civilized factions but I took it in a different and more profitable direction. As a Mercenary and Privateering unit. We also run a Taxi and Cargo service from time to time. Maybe you've heard of The Day of the Dead, Taxi and Cargo? or not." the interviewer smiles at the long winded response, and jots down "Leader died, became Mercenarys" and launches into his second question 2.What motivates your members/leadership? Britney smiles. "Fame, Fortune and Friendship" She pauses "Or the lack there-of. We DO like making other gangs mad." Ward nods "Our friends know us as generous and protective by nature. We fight tooth and nail rather than running to safety if things go bad. Our rivals and those we dislike know us for goading them into a bad situation and always having a 122mm heavy rocket ready to put into the breach as a reward for it." 3.Defining moment in your gangs history? "That's a difficult one" Ward says. Britney chimes in "I don't think so. I think the biggest defining moments were when we started the Taxi service and began teaching and interacting with fledgling gangs around the continent. Alot of those relationships we built have paid dividends over time. Mostly in the form of mutual protection and co-ordination of efforts. Also there was when we seized control of the markets in Sarsfield and began a methodical Resource Denial program by acquiring the entire storehouse of auto supplies." She smiles "All your gear are belong to us!" Ward nods. "Like a wise man of the wastes once said: if you want engines or guns, you talk to me. I think his name was Max. Our recently departed Old-Timer Nicholas 'Angry Brid' Cage reminded us alot of that legendary man." 4.Biggest challenges your gang faces? "Keeping people alive long enough to be worth the food they eat!" Says Ward. Britany just chuckles. 5.Most popular member of your gang/least popular member? Britney looks to Ward saying "We've lost so many" Ward thinks a bit. "Well, Beavis and Butthead (that Gary Muff and Rod Munch) were always good for a laugh. We had Gary cloned about 8 times but he got dumber every time. Then we realized Rod was dropping what he called 'Chodes' into the nutrient tank to keep Beavis company. So maybe we wont revive Gary 9. Besides, their car, the 'Fart Knocker' wasn't a very good car with Flamers on the front and heavy rocks on the tail. They were constantly yelling 'fire! fire!" and 'eat my tail!'. Amusing but innefective." Britney then speaks "For gang cohesion though, Marge 'Simpson' Beauvais and June 'Headhunter' Cleaver have my respect. Marge is the best mechanic we have ever had. Can take a car with a gutted out engine compartment and a couple sand gerbils and make it run! And June's skill on guns is a moral booster to any scout she joins. She rarely misses. Though her boy Bart... Zerker. He spends his time in Gateway so we dont have to deal with his shinanigans here in SS" Ward adds "We don't really have a least liked member. If we don't like someone we don't keep them around" 6.Favorite vehicle/weapon/setup? Britany responds "Our mainstays are Twin HMG Mercs. But we like to suppliment those with our Midgrade Chevalier Crew wagons for scouting. Our favorite car tends to be the Hearse. Or mine anyway. Me and Jesus started out in a hearse called the Bone Daddy. Our Bone Daddy and our 45 pistols were our best friends back then. The BD is still down in GW but isn't used much anymore. The Day of the Dead Taxi vehicle is a Hearse. Comes with closeable lid passenger 'cabins' built for one! its even certified with E-OH-SHI... the Evan Occupational Health, Service and Hospitality Institute... as being all encompassing for both safety and per-packaging in the event of an accident." Then she pauses. "But our most revered car is the 'U-Maul' line. Has twin ballistics weapons on its tail, either CGL or Napalm or Mounted Mortars or whatever we slap on, and 6 Heavy Rocket Racks all around. The patented 'get the FUQ away from me' defensive system. Ever seen a Sunrise eat 12 Heavy rockets? heh, heh. Well neither have I, their crew is paste by hit number 4 most times." 7.Events your gang enjoys the most(DR, combat, scout)? "We enjoy most events." says Ward. "Our racing philosophy is that our car is just as much an offensive tool as our weapons. We use that philosophy in Wilderness Rallys like CoE as well as Races and Death Races. Alot of other drivers don't like it and consider ramming to be rude. They seem to prefer the sanitary method of sitting back 100m and shooting at stuff. Be like it close and messy. Our favorite Ram target is The Darkside guys. They take it well and give back the same. All in good fun usually" 8.Biggest adversary/greatest ally? "We prefer not to name names" Says Ward as Britney begins to open her mouth to answer. "We don't WANT adversarial relationships but they do tend to happen. Usually all we have to do is say 'an un-named gang dislikes us and wants us dead' and then sooner or later, even if we didn't know who might dislike us, someone pipes up and gives themself away as having a grudge against us. As for our allys? That's no secret. Our greatest and most trusted ally is the gang responsible for more lost limbs in our gang's history than any other gang! Finger3 (AKA: the 3rd Finger)" Britney nods. "Finger can fart and someone loses a leg in SSE" 9.What are you thinking about during combat? "Killing stuff and breakin' sh*t" they say in unison. "Hoo-ah!" 10.How do you feel about your fellow gangers? "We are all assets to be deployed for the purpose of mission accomplishment" Says ward. "No need to feel anything. We are a team that gets a job done." "We are also a family" Says Britney. "We watch out for each other. Its a bond closer than normal friendship. Our lives depend on each other both in combat and out." 11.Final thoughts? Ward nods. "Only one really. well two... Foremost, people seem to have the misconception that we Privateers are Pirates. While we may occasionally stoop to piratical acts but we are not Pirates. Pirates loot and steal for the booty. We do it because someone else is paying us to do it. Usually. Unless your a Red. Better Dead than Red we like to say. But the point being, its business. We don't prey on merchants. More often than not, we protect them." "Second parting though, Always be aware that a Heavy Rocket into the breach is a great way to settle a disagreement." .........................
