 Here comes Michelle 'Pink' Floyd, sliding her BPU thru the finish gate and securing The Darkside's first Circuit of Evan Death Rally 2 Championship. With a new leader set in place, I felt the Deadwood Rangers should begin keeping an account of their affairs. This is my first and hopefully last entry, as I am just not cut out for this sort of thing. I am writing this log from a hospital bed due to injuries incurred from a recent engagement with The Turpins. My best friends and confidants, Cindy Wagoner and Cindy Martinson, “The Cindys”, have visited me often and reported on what the Rangers have been up to. The death of Vincent Harris brought a series of power struggles within the ranks that set many a member on edge. Most just grinned and carried on, others voiced their dismay openly, and a few became outright violent and combative, albeit behind my back, towards me… their de-facto leader. I’ll deal with them later. I thought for sure that Cindy Wagoner would have accepted the challenge of leading, but she just didn’t have the courage to do it. However, I knew she could talk pretty much anyone in to doing anything. She was just so smooth like that. She began by propositioning current members but none of them wanted to lead. So I had her go about the task of recruiting outside of our dysfunctional family. Then Eileen Carlton came along. “The Cindys” found her outside of Dexter’s Tavern, bent over the hood of an old and beat up Racoon, cursing and throwing parts here and there. She was surrounded by on-lookers, mostly men trying to sneak a peek up her miniskirt, while she went about trying to pinpoint the problem with the engine. Most of them tried offering her advice, as a way to show her that working on cars was a man’s business. But when she spoke, they could tell she knew exactly what she was taking about and that she wasn’t gonna take no crap from nobody. But they did persist at getting under her skin. Cindy Martinson told me about the conversation that sealed the deal with Eileen… Cindy W, “What’cha work’n on there cutie?” Eileen, “Oh this car is junk I swear!” Random Guy, “Hey Eileen, what’cha gonna do with those carburetors eh? You gonna polish’em up all shiny and paint ‘em pink like your hair?” Eileen, “Shut up punk, I’m trying to see if the reason this dang Racoon won’t start is cause they're fouled. Jake needs this car back by tomorrow and I don’t see none you buggers offering to help me push it across town.” Another Random Guy, “Maybe it’s the battery Eileen. You check that? I bet if you unplugged some of those crazy accessories you got there it’d prolly work.” Eileen, “You see the light under the hood genius? It’s got a charge, a full charge too. Shut up and go back to whatever barstool you crawled off of.” Cindy W, “You pricks need to go away. Now.” Cindy M, “Yeah, or else it’ll get bad for you. Very bad. You know those Dune Worms don’t leave no trace of bodies right? And I know just where to put yours.” Eileen, “I give up, this thing just won’t put out. Period.” Random Guy, “HAHAHA! That’s what we’re saying!” Eileen shot the man an evil glance over her back and he averted his eyes. The Other Random Guy, “Come on Eileen?!” After realizing what he said, he and the other jerks burst in to laughter. Eileen stopped what she was doing, put her tools down, walked over to the guy, sized him up like she was about to kiss him, and then delivered a round-house kick squarely to his jaw, knocking him out cold. They scrambled back to the safety of Dexter’s after that. Cindy W, “Those are some moves you got there Eileen. I’m Cindy, this is Cindy too. We’re from the Deadwood Rangers. I’m gonna say it bluntly… We need someone like you.” Eileen chuckled, “Cindy two? I like that. Say, I heard of you guys. Ya’ll do the grunt work for Skoaly’s Pick-N-Pull right? Yeah I’ll join up.  With the major leagues coming towards their conclusion, the current leaders are: Evan Race Ladder - Old School Perverts In addition, the leaders of the minor leagues are: Circuit of Evan Wilderness Rally I League - Joels Bastards   Junkyard Wars 2 report. Next up on the Junkyard Wars was a death race on Track 3 of the Junkyard complex, featuring that classic Deathrace, the Snubnose. The start of the race featured a full grid with a good mix of the great and good from all around Evan – even the old Goat had managed to get a driver entered. The question on everyone’s lips was would Joel be able to score enough points to take the win, or would some young pretender step and take the old campaigner down. The start of the race didn’t seem promising with Joel taking a tight inside line and flying up the field, the first time around the hairpin would prove to be make or break time for the B’stards as weapon activation time was rapidly approaching. And he made rounding the hairpin ahead of the first bunch and hitting a clear track, behind him it was mayhem with cars jump over the walls and clear over the tracks, running up the sides of the cliffs or bouncing around like pinballs off the front mounted rams. As he raced away a few rounds from HGGs floated after him, but more missed the mark than marked his racer. The back straight then became a place straight out of hell as individual racers tried to make it down and were smashed to pieces by weapons fire. By the time that the leaders crossed the line there was a number burning wrecks littering the track. In the front, Joel continued with his master class of death racing, slowly catching up with rear placed cars and starting to lap the rear of the field. The 2nd lap saw more flaming death traps started around the track as the numbers of cars still running shrunk. As the race played itself out, Joel finished first rounding off another fine victory for the B’stards and placed himself in untouchable lead in the overall event. The final results were: The finishers are as follows: 1st – Joels Bastards 2nd – DaBums 3rd – Gouged Eye 4th – Special Circumstances 5th – Triskellom 6th – WolvesPack And the overall event table after the second event: 40 – Joels Bastards 18 – Triskellon 15 – Starving Ones 15 – DaBums 12 – Alpha Omega Racing 12 – Gouged Eye 10 – Special Circumstances 8 – The Salthill Sluggerz 6 – Zombie Killers 6 – WolvesPack 4 – Ryslocks Ravagers 3 – F-Bombs 2 - Brassicas 1 – CURSED  Junkyard Wars Event 3 With the overall result decided it was understandable that the turnout for the third event would be lower, with only 8 entries turn out for the combat at Junkyard Arena. But even so the combat turned out to be a furious affair with all the terms throwing themselves in to combat in order to win the final event prize. In the opening exchanges Triskellon found himself up against the organizers, and was able to take an advantage after some tactical circling and knocked the GEEK boys out of the event. At the other end of the arena a 3 way struggle had developed between Kats Krusaders, Instigators and The El Nubnubs which saw Kats Krusaders flying through the air at one point and the Instigators and Nubnubs going head to head at another. After finishing off his opponents Triskellon made a steady approach and was able to make best of advantage of the bit of breathing space he had, to close in to quickly finish off the remaining combatants and take the win.
