10Oct10- Answered the call on a Saturday, and none too soon for a gang with more scouts inside Firelight then out. Shirley would serve as one of the gang`s few rebelfish vets at its 2012 revival.

7Feb2012- Demonstrating the value of a cool head and skilled hand under fire, she`d lead her Longbore2 team of Carolee Haskell and Ken Cunningham against a 4 car Desert Hyenas squad that had already destroyed their heavy apache and rebelRunner muscle without loss. Through the actions of her vehicle and a dismounted James Simpson with rifle, they`d turn back the Hyenas, disabling 3 cars, killing two enemy gangers, and sending the remaining Antag packing. Somehow through determination and a whole lot of luck, all gangers- including an unconscious Cecil Dennis and AdamBlock- would return to SS, minus one expensive hvy rifle. Carolee Haskell would die 2 days later, killed by a Polt in a routine encounter with the Hyenas.

Shirley would graduate to a leadership role in the gang, eventually rising to chief as rrs sole instructor- mentorship2- and focused on organization and training of the gang from a safe vantage point. In Feb17 however, Alice Oh Nurse Swanson would rise to an adequate level of mentorship ability to allow Shirley to once again take the field, including a return encounter on 23Feb where Shirley would lead her team to defeat 9 Boss vehicles- adding 6 salvage cars to her existing 2 for a total of 8 return trophies with no loss to her 4 original cars nor 9 gangers.

Though she was quiet and unassuming, all rebelgangers knew to listen to Shirley if she tells you to do something, because Shirley `Always` Knowles best. Shirley would pass away peacefully in the Somerset Hospital from natural causes at the ripe old age of 63, 29 September 2019.
