Heard right now it only take 2 days to open or close your camp to PvP?
I think it should be more like 3 months to reopen it, and 2 days to close it. Right now it's just too easy to close it when things are not going good and just reopen it in a few days to wage a guerilla war. |

Hmm, I posted here once and it was deleted. Well Ill try again I guess.
2 days in DW Pvp is a long time. Thats potentially 2 camp attacks of 3k CR in that short period of time. Based upon recent events, thats gonna damage a camp extensively. |

If you close your camp you shouldnt be able to reopen in quite a while at least.

Yeah but 2 days is a short time in real life, this is about game mechanics than realism anyways |

Why bother closing it for PvP? A lot can happen in a couple days...
How about instead, just setting your hours of operation down to zero? Shouldn't be any delay in that. Other camps that you are at war with can't attack you now. This way, you can leave your camp's PvP flag set and continue on your little warpath. A smart player might even go so far as to use this to create an "offense only" campaign for himself. No need to put anything into defense now, just move from enemy camp to enemy camp and grief anything you come into contact with. Shields up! |

I hope that's possible, we might get smoked out of the vault if it isn't. |

This issue was discussed before as it happened with goat's camp. If I remember correctly, goat agreed to stay open for an hr a day and remain Open Pvp, which everyone (including myself) felt was fair. The discussion just went away after this. In having closed hours, the one major negative is that your factories cant produce anything. |

...and that's a pretty big negative. I assume that being closed also affects oil plants, stone quarries, and pumpkin fields?
Also, a question: If someone launches an attack against a camp, can the camp owner shut down the camp before the attack arrives and therefore effectively cancel the attack? If so, that doesn't seem right. |

ANY changes to camp open hours take a couple of days to become effective anyway... Check the 'info' tab in camp - shows hours today and tomorrow, then a chance to check or uncheck. They don't take effect till day after tomorrow, so it's the same 2 days.

you can shut down PvP, in fact that seems the only way to stop a war, one side has to shut down PvP. It takes a cuple days as noted above. however, any attacks inbound, or scheduled during the days waiting to shut down still occur. We found that out when joel attacked HQ. Another question. If you have fame from open PvP, and close your camp, do you keep the PvP fame (minus the usual decay), or does it just go away at closing/reset on Friday? |

Basically the fame, production boost, and MR boost from PVP activity is "blocked." Your numbers change as soon as you officially closed to pvp(not declaration date, but actual closing). These numbers sit in the background, and continue to decay. If you were to re-open Pvp, what of these bonuses that have not decayed would then be returned to you. |

Thanks Longo, that makes sense, just wondering if that was how it happens. |

Can someone tell me if I change a camp to Open PvP do I get a production bonus? Or is it only if actual PvP happens?
IOW - what is the benefit of being Open PvP? |

There is no automatic fame/production/mech bonus. It comes from PvP. You also get mech rating bonus and production bonus over the extra fame at times. These are actually the best bonuses, but they decay each week. |
