Factions and Per-Town Rep./Fame, Bug Reports

El Carnicero Carne Muerta Sunday Driver Renegade Group: Members Posts: 79 Joined: Jan 2, 2010 I don't understand the rhyme or reason of the faction inter-relationships at all. I have been trying for months to cultivate a good enough relationship with the mutants to eventually join this faction. After carefully avoiding as many mutant killing scouts as I could, I finally got my relationship with them from 'unappreciated' up to 'neutral' after the recent weekly reset. Since then, I've only gone on 3 scouts, all against 'raiders' who are ostensibly enemies of the mutants.. I've done 4 couriers, 3 against anarchists/privateers/raiders and one against a mutant gang, 'warthog', but in all of these I ran away successfully and none of the npc gangers took any damage (other than superficial armor damage while chasing me). And yet somehow my relationship today is back to "unappreciated" again?? I suspect I'll have to start actively hunting civs or merchants if I ever want to actually be friends with the mutants someday, but in the meantime, how am I ever supposed to keep off their bad list when it seems that no matter who I encounter, even their Enemies, causes them to distrust me? If I want to increase mutant faction, should I run more couriers (or exclusive couriers) from Badlands to Shanty and Texan to Shanty or..  from Shanty to those towns.. or all of the above? This week at friday roll over, my fame stayed at renowned but now today (Saturday morning) its back to well know again and I don't think I did anything to warrant a Fame drop. Not sure why this is happening. I did beat up on merchants a bit, could this be the reason? Am I just not scouting often enough? Jeelz The Dionysian Dozen -CHQ- Darkwind Guru Mutants Faction Group: Members Posts: 1,054 Joined: Apr 30, 2009 I've been hitting the raiders all week and they have gone from unappreciative to appreciating me. In the mean time, my rep with Civs and Merchants has continued to decline. I am with the mutants, so I am use to seeing my standing with civs in particular drop sharply at the weekly update, but so far this week it has just continued to decline despite my best efforts to restore it. I've even spent all my HP's on getting a better standing with civs, to no visible effect. There was no bounty on me at the start of the week, and I did hit the civs just once (by accident, sorta) a few days ago. I didn't get any bounty on me after that event, but since then I have had an SS bounty slowly growing, even though I have only hit raiders since then. I have run a few travels with no encounters around elms/ SS area, and in the last few days I've been running around down south in unarmed travel vehicles, with no scout skill to speak of, and no encounters. No failed missions, although I did move a bit of mail for SS and elms residents this week. My rep in SS is still slipping, my bounty is still increasing. I'm not particularly concerned, just very curious as to why this would be the case. I brought this up in another thread but haven't had any response. What is going on? ** Just to be perfectly clear, I am not at any disadvantage, I'm not complaining, and don't even necessarily think this is a bug. But it is highly unusual based on my previous experience and I'm curious as to what might be the cause.
